SNAC Information SNAC (Special Needs Advisory Council) is Nantucket's Parent Advisory Council (PAC). The PAC helps guide special education services provided to all eligible students in a school system. In Massachusetts, each school system is required by state law to have a PAC, whose purpose is to allow parents of students with disabilities the opportunity to talk about common areas of interest and to advise the school committee about the education and well-being of students with disabilities. SNAC is an organization of families, teachers, and community members which supports and promotes the quality of education for students with diverse learning needs and challenges. For further information about SNAC or the parent support group-Uncommon Parents, please call: Nancy Miller, Director of Special Services, (508) 228-7285 ext. 1355, or SNAC Chairperson, Heidi Fee at 508.228.5526. All meetings are open to the public. For the 2012/2013 academic year, the remaining meetings are April 24, and May 15 from 6:30 - 7:00 pm in the CPS Conference Room. Immediately following in the same room will be the Uncommon Parents meeting at 7:15 - 8:30 pm. . |
