Student Technology Account Agreement
Parents /Guardians and students are asked to read Nantucket’s Empowered Digital Use Policy and the Acceptable Use Policy including restrictions against accessing inappropriate material on any school-issued devices. We require all parents to help their child to understand the importance of following the rules to ensure safe, responsible, and educational use of all district-provided technology, internet access, devices, and digital resources. Please review the guidelines below, then check the appropriate box on the Technology Agreements page. This agreement must be signed by September 30th. After September 30th, student accounts without signed agreements will be suspended. .
Responsible Use Guidelines
Users are encouraged to
- Use technology for educational, instructional, and work-related purposes only.
- Maintain respectful communication in digital spaces.
- Protect personal information and district data.
- Report misuse, security breaches, or technical issues promptly.
Users are prohibited from
- Accessing, sharing, or creating offensive, inappropriate, or illegal content. If such content is viewed, students should report to an appropriate adult as soon as possible.
- Using technology for harassment, or cyberbullying.
- Attempting to bypass internet filters in any way or tamper with Chromebooks in any way.
- Attempt to install unauthorized software or hardware.
Privacy & Monitoring

The district reserves the right to monitor and access all technology use and communications.

Users should have no expectation of privacy when using district systems or devices.
- Students may only log in under their assigned school issued username. Students may not share their password with other students.
- Students are encouraged to share their password and login information with their parent/guardian.
Device Use & Care
- District devices (e.g., Chromebooks, tablets) must be used responsibly and cared for properly.
- All students are responsible for the condition, loss, or damage of school devices.
- Students may not loan their Chromebook to other students for any reason. Students who do so are responsible for any loss or damage.
