Superintendent's Corner

Dear Students, Families, and Community Members,

I hope your summer has been filled with rest, joy, and time with loved ones. As we prepare to open our doors on September 2, the energy and anticipation of the first day of school feel as vibrant as ever. Our faculty and staff are excited to greet students once again and to fill our classrooms with the warmth of learning, laughter, and connection.

This summer has been anything but quiet at NPS. Our summer programs and Nantucket Community School camps kept students engaged with meaningful opportunities, while behind the scenes, new educators joined our team and staff worked tirelessly to prepare classrooms, care for our facilities, and update technology. The dedication of so many ensures that we are fully ready to begin the year strong.

I encourage families to continue nurturing curiosity and learning at home throughout the school year, whether through reading,  exploring the island’s rich resources in history, and enjoying Nantucket’s unique natural environment. These experiences keep students inspired and connected as we transition into the school year.

I look forward to welcoming back our students, staff, and families, both in our buildings during the school day and after school during the many extracurricular activities we provide. Until then, I wish you good health, joyful days, and an inspiring start to the new school year! GO WHALERS!

With the utmost Whaler Pride,

BH
