Katie Mooney

Katie Mooney has been teaching for 17 years.  Most of these years have been in third grade. She thinks third graders are the best and loves teaching this age group!  Katie was born in Michigan, but also spent part of her childhood in North Carolina and Kentucky before moving back to Michigan (with a southern accent) when she was 13.  She graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Elementary Education. (Go Green!) Later, she attained a master’s degree in special education. What brought her to Nantucket?  Summers during college to work. She feels lucky to live on this island and loves hanging out on the beach. She is outnumbered by boys at her house, living with her husband, Cameron, two sons (nine and seven years old), and her black lab, Farmer.
