Ms. Cara Seal
My name is Cara Seal, a 2002 graduate of The University of Evansville with a BS Degree in Special Education and currently licensed in Severe Disabilities, All Levels. I received my Master of Education in Curriculum and Teaching from Fitchburg State College in July, 2010.
After teaching for one year in Indiana, my career in Nantucket began as a Significant Needs Special Education Teacher at Cyrus Pierce Middle School from 2003-2008, I then shifted my focus to running the Language Based Learning Disabilities classroom at CPS for the next 5 years. From 2013-2016, I returned to teaching significant needs at CPS and was the lead teacher for grades 6-8 self-contained special needs classroom. In 2016, I transferred to the Nantucket Elementary School where I taught grades 2-5 substantially separate significant needs students. After one year, I moved to the new Nantucket Intermediate school where I remain today.
My experience in teaching students with learning differences has enabled me to celebrate student victories, share new and innovative teaching techniques, work to break down barriers, and to be a resource for their families and fellow educators.
It has been my pleasure to be a part of the Nantucket School family where there is daily collaboration in making sure each student has an opportunity to reach his, or her, full potential.
