Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year!

    Dear Students and Families,

We are very excited for our new school year at Nantucket Intermediate School. During this, our sixth year as a school community, we will work to live our district vision, mission and core values. That means we will ensure equitable learning experiences and the growth and progress of all students in grades three, four, five and beyond.

We welcome several new staff members to NIS this school year, all highly qualified for their roles and very excited to work with your children. Last year, with Dr. Eddie Wilkin on board as our music teacher, we were able to offer band to our 4th and 5th graders both during and after the school day. This opportunity was embraced by so many of our students demonstrating their interest in extracurricular activities, including the arts. We will continue to expand this particular program while not losing sight of important academic time.

Band is just one example of our commitment to educating the whole child. NIS lives this commitment through our comprehensive programming including art, band, library, music, physical education, social-emotional learning and STEM. We also recognize that with you as our committed partners every child will learn, grow and achieve success!

    Happy New School Year!
