Mr. Ryan Millen

I received my undergraduate degree from Providence College in 2014. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree, majoring in History, with a minor in Writing, and a concentration in Global Studies. During my studies, I focused on Asian history, Russian history, Indigenous Peoples of North, Central and South America, and Ancient Greece From there, I received my master’s degree in teaching Secondary Education: 5-8 Social Studies from American International College. I came to the island in 2016 from the Cape, and haven’t left. I love the island and I am glad to be a part of the resilient, compassionate community that resides here. As the 7th grade World Geography and Cultures teacher, I provide a myriad of immersive opportunities and activities that expose students to a variety of different cultures. In particular, we cover Oceania, Southeast Asia and India before embarking on an in-depth study of Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome and Ancient China. I wholeheartedly enjoy working with the 7th grade students, and helping them learn and hone skills that will help turn the students into critical-thinking members of our global society.
