Ms. Marita Scarlett

Ms. Scarlett never has been a fan of the straight line.  After years working in the Nantucket Public Schools in roles from tutoring, to preschool teacher, to behavioral assistant and teaching assistant, she finally closed the circle and became a special education teacher.  Since returning to the public schools in 2012, Ms. Scarlett has been the lead teacher of the Language Based Learning Disability Program at CPS.

In addition to her work at school, Ms. Scarlett has 4 children between ages 3 and 19 years old.  She is involved in social justice and anti-racism work on the island and is committed to working to make the world the place she wants all children to live in.  Of course, no one lives on Nantucket without a love of the beach and the beauty of nature.
