Lead Learner

I am the enthusiastic lead learner at Nantucket Intermediate School.  As principal, I am so proud of our students, staff and families as we work collaboratively to make NIS the best school it can be.  Our belief that we are all continuous learners fuels everything we do to grow each and every day! My whole life I always knew I wanted to be a teacher and work in public education. All of my different roles have been my favorite when I have been in them. Here are some of the wonderful jobs I have had:  special education teacher, classroom teacher, reading specialist, literacy coach, K-5 elementary principal, and now the happy principal of NIS!

Personally, my husband and I are proud to call Nantucket home and love when our three children are home from college to explore our island together. Some of my favorite things to do outside of school are read, cook, run, swim in the ocean, go to plays and be with family. One of my favorite spots on Nantucket is Quaise Point. It is so beautiful there!
