Ms. Richelle Beaudette

As a competitive gymnast for 10 years, I spent most of my younger years in a gym - it truly became my second home.  I competed at the state, regional, and national level.  In my senior year of high school, I was one of ten gymnasts selected in the state of Massachusetts (MA) to compete on the MA High School Gymnastics National Team.  In the fall of 2013, I was the first gymnast at Shrewsbury High School to be inducted into their Athletic Hall of Fame.  As soon as I became old enough, I began teaching gymnastics to gymnasts of all ages and levels. I am thrilled that I have been able to foster my love of teaching young children and have had the opportunity to work in a gym that has felt like home to me since my younger years as Nantucket Elementary School's K-2 Physical Education (PE) Teacher.  In addition to numerous years teaching gymnastics, as a graduate of Hamilton College and Boston University's Master's of Counseling Psychology program and having completed all of the coursework in Assumption College's Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (C.A.G.S.) program in Counseling Psychology, I have completed extensive coursework in children's development and psychology.  I feel so fortunate that Nantucket has been my home for the last fifteen years where, in addition to my work as a PE teacher, I love spending time with my family, running, swimming, and cycling.  In September of 2018, I completed the Pilgrimman Half Ironman in Plymouth, MA, and absolutely love the opportunity as a PE teacher to share my love for physical activity with my young students in a comfortable and fun environment in the gym at Nantucket Elementary School.
