Donna Johnson

I currently work as the elementary ELA coordinator; working in collaboration with administrators, teachers and students to build upon our strong reading, writing and word study programming. This is my third year on Nantucket and my twenty-third year in education.  I am fortunate to have grown my educational practice through the roles of second grade teacher, third grade teacher, fifth grade teacher, literacy facilitator and middle school assistant principal. Something you may not know about me is that my family has been on the island for seven generations and were prominent in the whaling industry long ago.  Family continues to be my rock.  You may see me around the island with my husband, son and daughter in the summer engaging in some of our favorite pastimes which include visiting the beaches, clamming and fishing!
