• Miriam Congdon-Atschul Scholarship

The Miriam Congdon Scholarship Fund has directed "that the Nantucket School Committee shall function as controller of this fund and shall direct its distribution having first determined that a child who wishes to go to college or to another institution of higher education cannot afford to do so; having made such a determination as establishing eligibility for gifts from this fund, the Committee shall then select among the most deserving applicants upon such criteria as they shall from time to time adopt".

The School Committee and the Superintendent shall designate the recipients without restrictions to race, color or creed.
Applicants for the scholarship must be residents, or primary family members of residents, of Nantucket. Undergraduates will get priority over those seeking graduate-level educations. Financial need will be the first determinant for eligibility for the Miriam Congdon Scholarship Fund.

Funds from this scholarship will be paid directly to the college or school which the recipient is attending and may be applied toward tuition and educations costs. Awards will be announced during the summer.
