Scholarship Information 2019
Dear Seniors and Alumni:
Fortunately, again this year, the various organizations of the Town of Nantucket are providing scholarship assistance to help graduating seniors and alumni to meet the cost of higher education. The School’s scholarship website, which contains over $700,000 in scholarships offered by the greater Nantucket Community, can be accessed online: www.npsk.org.
The directions for the General Scholarships are explicit and uncomplicated. Please submit all required documentation at the time of application and no later than April 22, 2019. Please note: Submit one General Scholarship Application form with one complete packet containing all supporting documentation for all scholarships listed on the General Application Form (unless otherwise instructed) for which you are applying. In order to be considered for general scholarships, all documentation must be received by April 22, 2019.
Do note that the “Scholarship” link has a drop down menu revealing our other site for “Off-Island Scholarships”. Please take the time to look at it. All Community Scholarships will have their own application process as noted in their descriptions on the website.
Requirements: Each applicant must submit a copy of his/her Student Aid Report (SAR), including the Expected Family Contribution (EFC). You will receive the SAR after completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Online FAFSA information and a free application are available at: www.fafsa.ed.gov. In addition, you must submit a copy of your financial aid letter from your college, the total cost of attendance from the website of the college of your choice, and your latest transcript showing your cumulative GPA. (If you are an alumnus and have not received your 2019-2020 financial aid award letter by the deadline, please submit your award for 2018-2019. If there have been any significant financial changes which will impact your upcoming award, please include a letter outlining these changes.)
Be aware that a substantial amount of scholarship monies is available through Cape Cod Association (www.capecodassoc.org) for graduates who were born and reside on Cape Cod and the Islands and through Cape Cod Foundation (www.capecodfoundation.org). Please check the respective websites for scholarship deadlines.
If you are awarded any scholarships, please be sure to demonstrate your appreciation to the donor(s) for their faith and trust in you.
